Since joining 10News in 1990, Herb Cawthorne's commentaries have raised hackles -- some in high places. For Herb, shaking up the staus quo, especially through a medium as important as television, keeps politicians and business power brokers on their toes. And that's what Herb does best. Challenging individuals to take responsibility for their lives is how he makes a difference. Herb's a community leader against gang violence and is committed to finding jobs for the unemployed.

Herb came to San Diego from Portland, Oregon where he served as president of the Portland Board of Education. Since coming to San Diego, he has continued his involvement in education and the community. He served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the San Diego Urban League for two and a half years, after which he was appointed the Vice President for Governmental Affairs for the San Diego Chamber of Commerce.
